Lonsdale Road

 

This project involved the refurbishment, reconfiguration and extension of a group of buidings on Lonsdale Road in Barnes, London. The brief was to create a headquarters for Velehrad London, a charity and cultural organisation catering for the expatriate community from the former Czechoslovakia.

The existing buildings included a Victorian villa and coach house, as well as various mid 20th Century additions which were partly demolished and replaced. New uses include a function hall and performance space, classrooms, accommodation for visitors and spaces for meetings and community events.

​

As well as creating new contemporary spaces and insertions, the works also involved uncovering and restoring many of the original features of the Victorian buildings.
